Esther Park joins New Resource Bank Board of Directors

SAN FRANCISCO—New Resource Bank is pleased to announce the appointment of Esther Park to our Board of Directors.

Park is president of Commons Stock, a fund management and due diligence consulting firm. She has over 12 years’ experience in mission-based financial services, ranging from microfinance to risk capital investments. She also serves as a vice chair of the Permaculture Credit Union, an advisor to Mary’s Gone Crackers and Kitchen Table Advisors, and an Investment Committee member of Slow Money’s Gatheround.

“Esther has a remarkable ability to understand a strategy and think of creative ways to support it,” said Mark Finser, chairman of the New Resource Bank Board of Directors. “Her extensive advisory and lending experience will be a great asset to the board and the bank, and we all look forward to working with her.”

Park was vice president for strategy and business development at RSF Social Finance, overseeing all lending activity, from 2007 to 2011. Under her leadership, RSF tripled its loan portfolio and developed a mezzanine debt fund. Before joining RSF, Esther was a senior consultant for ShoreBank Advisory Services, where she provided strategic and capital planning advice for community development financial institutions (CDFIs), with an emphasis on small-business and affordable-housing loan funds. She also trained lenders internationally in small-business lending practices, and underwrote program-related investments (PRIs) for private foundation clients.

“I have been following New Resource Bank’s development since they started, and I have been impressed over the years with how they’ve developed their mission, their staff and their products and services. It’s a mission I strongly support,” said Park, adding, “I hope to help the bank continue to expand its commercial lending, and I am very interested in helping to drive the strategic vision for where the bank is going.”
