Big crowd, great noshes and exciting showcases add up to stellar client reception

A record crowd of close to 250 people turned out last week for New Resource Bank’s annual client reception and showcase—an event that’s grown so popular we moved it to the spacious and elegant Orrick Building lobby next door.
One of the most satisfying aspects of the event for bank staff is seeing our clients and partners meet and reconnect. Part of our mission is to build community, and the fact that this gathering of sustainable business leaders and nonprofits grows every year—in size and enthusiasm—is testament to the progress we’re making.
Catering by Nopalito (the tacos flew off the trays), wine from Grape Expectations and beer from Bison Brewing—all New Resource clients—fueled conversations that lasted well past the party’s end (we’re sorry if we had to kick you out). Attendees also got a taste of Cowgirl Creamery cheese (served personally by co-founder Sue Conley), Alter Eco chocolate (their new truffles are super tasty), Good Bean chickpea snacks and superfood popcorn from Nutiva.
Several clients showcased their green and locally made products: EcoLunchbox reusable wraps and lunchboxes; Elemental Herbs organic sunscreens, lotions and balms; Equator Coffee & Teas; and Heath Ceramics tableware. And we hope everyone got a chance to talk with the groundbreaking nonprofits and professional firms on hand: 18 Reasons, a nonprofit providing free cooking classes; Call of the Wild Adventures, a women’s adventure travel operator; Embrace, a nonprofit advancing maternal and infant health; Green Retirement Plans, a socially responsible retirement planning service; Pacific Community Ventures, an advisor to and funder of small businesses; RSF Social Finance, a pioneer in social enterprise financing and investments; and SF Conservation Corps, a nonprofit providing jobs to teens.
Thanks to everyone who showcased and attended. We hope the conversations started lead to many fruitful relationships in the year ahead.
