As part of our commitment to promoting education and dialogue related to sustainable living, New Resource is sponsoring several upcoming events: the Economics of Peace Conference in Sonoma Oct. 18–23, the Social Venture Network Fall Conference in La Jolla Oct. 22–25, and the Sustainable Industries Economic Forum in San Francisco Nov. 19. We encourage our community members to participate in these worthwhile events.

Siciliano speaks to B Corps

New Resource President and CEO Vince Siciliano will speak Sept. 23 in San Francisco at the first West Coast Forum for B Corporations (companies chartered to pursue environmental and social goods as well as profits). Siciliano will participate in a panel addressing the theme, “Preparing Your Company for Investment.” The event is invitation-only.

Founder talks cleantech in Taiwan

New Resource founder and Vice Chair Peter Liu visited Taiwan in August at the invitation of the U.S. State Department to speak with government and business leaders about cleantech opportunities. “They are very receptive to the need for solutions to climate change,” says Liu, who gave several speeches and met with high-ranking officials as well as CEOs and trade organization heads. “They were very interested in how we viewed this issue as an economic opportunity.” See the China Post’s report on the visit.
