Flora Grubb, owner of Flora Grubb Gardens in San Francisco’s Bayview District, was honored with one of the first American Made Awards, presented by Martha Stewart. One of 11 honorees chosen from among 100 finalists, Flora was recognized as an entrepreneur and artisan in the garden category. She and her fellow honorees are profiled in the November issue of Martha Stewart Living.

Flora sees her mission as "introducing a real peace and joy in city dwellers' lives through the act of gardening." Flora Grubb Gardens sources plants locally and supports small, local manufacturing. Education is a cornerstone of Flora’s business, and she hosts lectures on sustainability as well as on gardening.

Flora discusses her commitment to supporting local manufacturing in San Francisco in a video profile on the American Made website. The profile also describes how her move to San Francisco’s Bayview District helped support the neighborhood’s revitalization.
