I took my family to the Green Festival last weekend and was energized by the size and passion of the crowd.  Thinking they were in for a snoozefest, my three kids (4th grade, 7th grade and 9th grade) were ecstatic that they didn’t have to watch me give a presentation on “Financing Green Business,” but could wander the aisles collecting free samples.

Siciliano speaks to B Corps

New Resource President and CEO Vince Siciliano will speak Sept. 23 in San Francisco at the first West Coast Forum for B Corporations (companies chartered to pursue environmental and social goods as well as profits). Siciliano will participate in a panel addressing the theme, “Preparing Your Company for Investment.” The event is invitation-only.

 

Founder talks cleantech in Taiwan

New Resource founder and Vice Chair Peter Liu visited Taiwan in August at the invitation of the U.S. State Department to speak with government and business leaders about cleantech opportunities. “They are very receptive to the need for solutions to climate change,” says Liu, who gave several speeches and met with high-ranking officials as well as CEOs and trade organization heads. “They were very interested in how we viewed this issue as an economic opportunity.” See the China Post’s report on the visit.
