Daniel Yohannes – Chairman of the Board
Daniel is an accomplished banker with three decades of experience. Daniel recently retired from U.S. Bank as its Vice Chairman after helping it grow to the nation's six largest bank over his tenure with that bank. At U.S. Bank, he was Vice Chairman and head of the Consumer Banking as well as Vice Chairman of the Commercial Banking Group. Daniel was also President and CEO of Colorado National Bank, where he grew the bank from $2 billion to $9 billion. Daniel began his career in California with the Security Pacific Bank, starting as a teller in 1977 and growing to become Senior Vice President and Divisional Administrator responsible for Southern California and finally Executive Vice President, Head of Consumer Banking Pacific Northwest. He has been on the board of companies such as MediaOne and organizations such as the Smithsonian Institute and the National Jewish Hospital and Research Center.
Peter Liu – Initial Founder and Vice Chairman
Peter founded the bank after nearly two decades of experience in the banking and energy industries. Peter had been a Senior Vice President and Vice President, respectively, of Credit Suisse First Boston and the Chase Manhattan Bank, where he completed $6 billion in financing transactions as well as providing corporate and strategic advisory. He has been a private investor and strategic advisor to several clean energy technology companies and currently serves on the Clean Technology Investment Advisory Boards of the California Public Employees Retirement System and the California Teachers' Retirement System, respectively the largest and the 3rd largest pension funds in the United States. He is the co-founder and Vice-Chair of the China-U.S. Energy Efficiency Alliance and serves on the boards of the Roots of Change Fund and the California Climate Action Registry.
Clay Jones – Bank President
Clay was the Chief Operating Officer and Acting President of Cupertino National Bank, a $1.5 billion bank in the heart of Silicon Valley. Before he was promoted to run Cupertino National, Clay was the group manager and head of the bank's Technology Banking Group. Prior to Cupertino National, Clay held leadership and marketing positions at Comerica Bank and Silicon Valley Bank. Clay is an Executive Board Member and Finance Committee Chairman of the Episcopal Charities of San Francisco. He is a business advisor and member of the Business Roundtable for Pacific Community Ventures, and an active supporter of many local charities and non-profit organizations.
Bob Epstein - Director
Bob has co-founded the following information technology companies: Sybase, GetActive Software, Zight and Britton-Lee. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for GetActive. In 1984, he co-founded Sybase, which developed SQL Server and was an initial provider of client/server computing. Sybase grew into a billion dollar business with the inclusion of middleware and development tools. Bob is also the co-founder of Environmental Entrepreneurs, a national community of business people who believe in protecting the environment while building economic prosperity. E2 members have been involved in financing, creating or involved in the early development of over 800 companies and currently represent more than $20 billion in private equity capital under management.
Mark Finser - Director
Mark A. Finser is Chair of the Board of RSF Social Finance. RSF provides innovative investing, lending, and philanthropic services to catalyze the growth of organizations creating a more sustainable future. Mark grew RSF's assets from $6,000 in 1984 to $120M today. Mark brings communities of philanthropists and socially responsible investors together to further RSF's mission: to transform the way we work with money. As he travels in the U.S. and internationally, Mark speaks on all aspects of the emerging social finance arena. In addition, Mark leads TBL Capital, a sustainable venture fund he founded in 2007. Mark's interests include biodynamic agriculture, integrative medicine, and meditation.
Rick Holmstrom - Director
Rick is Co-Founder and Vice Chairman of Menlo Equities, a real estate investment and development company based in Palo Alto with offices in Santa Clara, Newport Beach, and San Diego. Since inception, Menlo Equities has completed $1.4 billion in aggregate transactions. Rick is a member and Past President of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP). Since 1998, Rick has also been a Director of MB Financial Corporation, a $5 billion bank holding company based in Chicago, where he serves on the executive, audit, and compensation committees. Rick is a Trustee and member of the Executive Committee of the UC Berkeley Foundation and Advisory Board member of the Haas School of Business. He has also served on the boards of the Stanford Alumni Association and the Consortium for International Development, and the International Development Exchange.
Fran A. Streets - Director
Fran is a long time San Francisco banking executive and bank director. Fran left the Advisory Board of City National Corporation to join New Resource Bank. She was previously a director of Pacific Bank, where she served on its Audit and Finance Committee, the Loan Committee as well as the Nominating and Compensation Committee. As a leader in Bay Area business and civic activities, Fran was the first African-American to serve on the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, the San Francisco Education Fund, and the Economic Development Corporation. Fran is past Co-chairman of the Board of the San Francisco Ballet and continues to serve on its Board. She also served on the Pew Forum on Education Reform at Stanford University and is a Trustee Emeritus of the University of San Francisco. Fran was a commissioner of the City of San Francisco's Library Commission where she served as Chair of the Finance Committee. Fran was Past-President of the International Women's Forum where she continues to serve on the Board of Directors.
Michael van den Akker - Director
Michael is Co-Founder and Partner of Baker Street Advisors, LLC (BSA), a Family Wealth Management firm with approximately $2 Billion under management. Prior to founding BSA, Michael was a Managing Director at myCFO, Inc. Previously, Michael spent 19 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLC, where he served as the West Region Partner in Charge for the Personal Financial Services Group and was the Chairman of the Investment Advisory Board for Price Waterhouse LLP, which managed the firm's National Investment Advisory Practice and oversaw it's registration with the SEC. Michael had served on the Board of Directors of the Pacific Vascular Research Foundation and the Bay Area Sports Organizing Committee under former Senator Quentin Kopp. Michael is a Certified Public Accountant and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the California CPA Society. He also holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA institute.
